“Cavaliet” and Cavalier were platted the same day (12/29/1927).The “Cavaliet” entry is annotated “Sec. 19 T10N R4E” and “Lots 1-44 inc. Replatted 6/18/53.Now lots 1-26 replat”. The deeds headed with the correct spelling, Cavalier, comprise three pages for Lots 1-24, Lots 25-48, and Lots 49-66. Although several of the lots were re-platted in the seventies, the subdivision is still extant and still has 66 lots. It is bounded by Copper Avenue, Central Avenue, Dallas Street, and Pennsylvania Street.

The Digital Sanborn Maps collection is a browsable set of thousands of digitized images of the 1867–1970 Sanborn maps for cities and towns in New Mexico.
The maps contain information such as the outline of each building, the size, shape and construction materials, heights, and function of structures, location of windows and doors. The maps also give street names, street and sidewalk widths, property boundaries, building use, and house and block numbers.
