(1922-2001) Lawyer, first female New Mexico Supreme Court justice. WASP (Women's Airforce Service Pilot) in WWII. Went to UNM's Law School on the G.I. Bill. First woman judge of the Albuquerque District Court; first woman Chief Judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. Several awards in her field; inducted into the New Mexico Women's Hall of Fame. UNM's Law School presents an annual award in her name.

Opened in 1918 as Kamp Killgloom / Camp Killgloom. In the East Mountains. Treatment center for tuberculosis patients who came from around the country for the high altitude and fresh air, believed to be helpful in fighting "consumption". So many patients came through the Camp that there is now tourism involving their relatives looking to learn more about the experience. Post-TB, the camp became Hobbies Mountain Ranch in 1951, often now known simply as "Hobbies".

Born in Albuquerque, moved to Hollywood after graduating from high school. Actor in film and TV, including the series Roswell.

210-room luxury hotel at the east End of Central Avenue, at the mouth of Tijeras Canyon. Opened in 1959, became the premier lodging in Albuquerque with visitors including Liberace, Kirk Douglas, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and President John F. Kennedy. Decline in the 1970s and became an abandoned property, demolished in 1988.

Incorporated in 1996 to repurpose the decades-abandoned Albuquerque Rail Yards as a museum "whose mission is to preserve history, educate the public in the history of transportation, and provide our visitors with an opportunity to experience travel as it used to be".

AKA: White Elephant Bar. Began operating in the early 1880s on Railroad (now Central) Avenue. Noted for its bar, long enough to accommodate 50 men, and the quality of its imported furnishings. The White Elephant offered many forms of gambling until gaming was outlawed by the city in 1907. The Saloon faded during Prohibition, and the building was demolished; in 1923 the Sunshine Building was built on the site.
