Public Computer Workstations

All Public Library branches except for the Ernie Pyle Library have computers open to the public with Windows 10 operating systems and Microsoft Office 2019 with access to the Internet, electronic databases, learning platforms such as LinkedIn Learning and Learning Express. All locations also offer free Wi-Fi access. Note that when accessing through Wi-Fi or offsite, many learning platforms and library services require login with library card and PIN.

USB drive A USB flash drive (also called a thumb drive) will be required to save documents, photos, music and other files. Customers will not be able to save work on the desktop or hard drive of a public workstation.

laptopPersonal laptops are required for some classes.

mobile devicesMobile devices such as smartphones, eReaders, MP3 Players and iPads are used in sessions about downloading digital media.

Alamosa:

One-on-One. Call 836-0684 to schedule an appointment.

  • Internet searching and browsing

  • Getting started with MS Word
  • Creating a resume 

Cherry Hills:

Digital Basics: One on One. Tuesdays, 1pm. Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, how to create and use an email account, or how to use library resources. Classes are taught either on a library computer or the patron’s tablet (i.e. Kindle or iPad). For computer basics, patron must have a library card in good standing with computer access. For tablet basics, patron must bring their device and its passwords as well as library card and PIN. Registration is required and limited to 1. Call 857-8321 to register, or click the Register link in the event listing on the Cherry Hills event calendar.

Central & Unser:

Basic Tech Computer & Device Class: One on One. Appointments can focus on working with Microsoft Word, creating and using an email account, using library resources including eBooks and e Audiobooks, and learning beginning computer skills. In addition, job focused computer support is available: writing a resume, cover letter, or submitting a job application. Must have a library card in good standing. If using a personal device, patron must have all applicable passwords and PINs.

Tech Turn Up (Beginning September, 2024). Have a tech issue you need sorted out? Stop by our Tech Turn Up for assistance. Job application, phone, computer, or device support with no appointment needed. Any and all questions encouraged!

Erna Fergusson:

Digital Basics: One on One. Wednesdays, 3pm - 5pm and Fridays 1pm - 2pm. We can help with library digital materials, email, device troubleshooting, and more. Sign up for a One on One half-hour session with a staff member to help with your tech related woes. For help with personal devices, bring device and related passwords. For general computer help, a library card in good standing and a PIN are required. Make an appointment at the Erna Fergusson Information Desk or call us at (505)888-8100.

International District:

One-On-One: Get one-on-one help with your tech questions. Assistance with basic computer navigation, establishing email, job applications, resume design, and library resources. Help is available with your personal device or on one of our public computers. All participants must have a valid library card prior to appointment. Please call 768-4970 or visit the International District library to reserve a spot. Appointments available Wednesdays and Thursdays. 

Lomas Tramway:

Computer and Mobile Device Help in English and Spanish. Various times by appointment only. Get one-on-one help downloading and using our e-books and e-resources with your device or computer. We’ll also help with basic computer navigation, email, and creating word documents on your computer or ours. All participants must have a valid library card prior to appointment. Please call 291-6295 or visit the Lomas Tramway library to make an appointment.

One-on-one help with online email software, MS Office including Word, Excel, and Publisher, as well as downloadable resources and apps available with your device or computer. Rudolfo Anaya North Valley:

One-on-One. E-reader & Computer Help. Saturdays, 10 am to 11 am. Registration is required, call 897-8823 to schedule an appointment. Participants must have a library card in good standing.

South Broadway:

One-on-One Device Training. Second Thursday of the month, 4 – 5 p.m. A one-on-one help session for those needing technical support with eBooks, eAudiobooks, and other digital media. Bring your device/laptop. Registration is required. Participants must have a library card in good standing. Call 764-1742 to schedule an appointment.

South Valley:

One-on-One, Bilingual English and Spanish. Saturdays at 10 a.m. Must have a valid library ard. Ages 13+. Call 877-5170 to schedule an appointment.
