hoopla
Bringing you hundreds of thousands of music, eAudiobooks, eBooks, full-length movies, television episodes, and comics/graphic novels, hoopla is an all in one digital service made available to you through the Public Library. From Hollywood blockbusters to best selling artists and authors – simple to access and use, without the hassle of having to return the items you've borrowed, all you need is your library card, a web browser, smart phone or tablet to get started. You can even download titles and access them offline.

Starting on July 1st, 2024, our library will have a limit for the number of items that are allowed to be borrowed each day. If/when the limit is reached, you may receive the following message on our hoopla service:
The collective daily borrow limit set by your library has been reached and will reset at midnight. Please browse and add titles to favorites so you can easily access them after midnight.
If/when you receive this message on hoopla, you can favorite the item (by pressing the heart icon) and continue to browse the digital collection until the new day starts. Once the new day starts, this is when our library daily limit will also restart, and you can try to borrow the titles favorited the day before.
Please note this new setting does not affect the number of monthly borrows available to each patron on hoopla. Patrons can still borrow up to five titles from hoopla each month on the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Library service. Freegal Music +
Freegal Music + is a music service which offers access to over 16 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists, and over 40,000 music videos. In total the collection is comprised of music from over 93,000 labels with music that originates in over 100 countries. There is no software to download, and there are no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions. Freegal works with most computers, players, tablets, and smartphones. No special software is needed, but there are Apple and Android apps available for a more mobile-friendly experience. You can download 5 songs per week and access to unlimited daily streaming using your valid library card number and PIN.
Naxos Music Library
Naxos Music Library [NML] is the world´s largest online classical music library. Currently, it offers streaming access to more than 182,530 CDs with more than 2,815,813 tracks of both standard and rare repertoire. Over 600 new titles are being added to the library each month.
The library offers the complete Naxos and Marco Polo catalogues plus the complete catalogues or selected titles from over 950 record labels, with more labels joining every month. Along with classical music, jazz, world, and pop/rock are also represented.
NML can be accessed from any computer, anywhere, anytime. With the iOS and Android apps, subscribers can also access the service on the go with mobile devices. To use the app you must first create an account associated with your name and email address from this registration page of the website.
The contents of NML can be browsed by composer, artist, genre, category and label. User can search with our fast and easy-to-use keyword search engine, or by our sophisticated advanced search engine with up to 14 search criteria. In addition to listening to recordings, NML provides liner notes for many albums. Listeners can create personalized playlists or enjoy our predefined Naxos Music Library playlists. .
Furthermore, a vast array of background information is available. Resources include:
- Over 900 aural training exercises.
- Guided Tours on classical music eras.
- Audio book transcriptions about the history of classical music and opera with listening examples.
- Libretti and synopses of over 700 operas.
