Quivira Society, TheAlso spelled as "Qivira". Organized in 1929 as "a group of investigators engaged in research pertaining to the early history of the southwestern part of the United States and of northern Mexico". The group worked to not only preserve and translate documents into English, but also to have the translations published and entered into collections. Materials were published at the University of Southern California and UNM. New Mexico editors included Edgar Lee Hewett, Lansing B. Bloom, George P. Hammond, and Agapito Rey.
