Seed Library

The ABQ-BERNCO Seed Library was established in 2014 and has as its mission to encourage a community of water-wise gardeners and seed savers. In line with our mission, we aim to provide the access, helpful hints, and skills to enable all Albuquerque citizens to participate in this community. We provide free seed to Public Library card holders and offer free programs to foster all levels of gardeners through growing, harvesting, and seed saving—all within our unique high desert environment.

Sorenson Videophone

The Public Library has a Sorenson nTouch VP2 videophone available for public use on the second floor of Main Library. The Sorenson videophone is located in a more private area on the second floor along the back wall of the building. To check out the remote control, please go to the Genealogy desk also on the second floor. This assistive technology allows deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-disabled U.S. persons to place calls using sign language, either calling another video phone directly or placing a call through an interpreter to others who also use the video phone.

Help! My News is Fake!

Our library staff has put together a web resource to look at fake news and provide tools to give everyone the ability to tell accurate news from fake news. You deserve the truth. “Fake news” is not news you disagree with. You have every right to be insulted when you read fake news. You are smart enough to make up your own mind. Find the real facts, look at the real facts, and don't allow your self to be treated like an idiot. This guide is put together to help give valuable insight in telling fact from fiction online.
