Ebony Isis Booth is a passionate and engaged community organizer, creative, and writer whose work very much centers the lives of Black women. She is a personal and leadership development coach for racial equity and social justice, healer and poet. Ebony is the founder of the African American multimedia showcase, Burque Noir, and Honeysuckle Creatives, a consultancy specializing in cultural engagement strategies, project management, and event design with people of color in mind. She is a member of WK Kellogg Foundation’s Community Leadership Network of Fellows, and cultural strategist who employs joy as an act of resistance. As a facilitator, Ebony uses creative expression and empowerment techniques to engage community members toward inclusive cultural awareness. Originally from New Jersey and a longtime resident of Denver, Ebony is honored to have spent the past six years being enchanted by Pueblo land now called Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Rathi Casey comes from a background of design, innovation and visual creativity. With over 10 years of experience in Architecture & Graphic Design, her focuses align with elevated holistic problem solving. Born in Southern India and raised in Hong Kong, Rathi loves to travel the world, and has worked in Paris, New York, Houston, San Francisco, and Hong Kong. Her love for international design influences her work through visual experiences in both the physical environment and digital spaces. Rathi is CEO at UKUU Creative and her leadership focuses on entrepreneurship, cultivating your brand, and building relationships within the community. She is committed to high quality design projects, and dedicated to serving a greater purpose. She believes that UKUU Creative completes the circle, meeting real human needs with strong design solutions. Rathi was a 2019 Albuquerque Business First 40 Under Forty Honoree and was the 2020 Albuquerque Economic Development Rising Star Honoree. She serves on the board of Explora Children’s Museum, the Urban Land Institute New Mexico, and Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School.
León M Powell has a multifaceted professional approach, founded in the idea that personal is political as a source for community-based connection. This has driven them to over a decade of successful leadership within Spanish-speaking and LGBTQI+ communities. Having served as an Educator/Trainer, Spanish Language Translator, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and Massage Therapist, León (/le-ohn/) administers dynamic support to organizations such as the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico and the Rio Grande Community Development Corporation. León’s lived experience as a queer, transmasculine, and non-binary person, born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, is the foundation of everything they do, both professionally and personally.
Gabrielle Marie Uballez is a strategist, culture-builder, educator, and facilitator who prioritizes creativity, justice, and collaboration, and that centers the vision of Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Gabrielle co-leads work to support women of color in New Mexico and convenes conversations on economic justice for philanthropic affinity groups. She previously served as the executive director of Working Classroom, a local grassroots organization that amplifies historically ignored voices, resists systemic injustices, and imagines a more equitable society through community-led artistic collaborations. Uballez earned her B.A. from Pomona College, a certificate from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Program for Non-Profit Leaders. She lives and works in downtown Albuquerque, in a 100-year-old home, with her husband and their two young Chinese-Chicanx children.
