Adult Learning @ the Public Library

About Adult Literacy

Adult Literacy Services

The two services below, Reading Works and ReadWest, are two of our community resources providing fantastic free adult literacy education.  Although neither is a part of the Public Library we appreciate the work they do and want to bring awareness to their resources.

ReadingWorks

Reading Works

From health to the economy, to children's welfare to civic engagement, every important issue is impacted by adult literacy. We help adults acquire the skills they need to change their lives through literacy.

Since 2009, Reading Works has provided free literacy tutoring to adults. Adult literacy is about individual dignity and building strong families. It's about building an inclusive community where everyone has opportunity. Community volunteers provide one-on-one or small group tutoring:

  • Reading & Writing
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Math
  • Digital Literacy.
