What is the GED

What is the GED?

The GED is the General Education Development Test, a series of exams that certify that a person has achieved high school level skills when passed.  While other high school equivalency credentials exist, the GED is the only one recognized in all fifty states.

The GED changed in format on January 1, 2014.  Scores for sections from the previous versions of the GED do not carry over to the new GED.  All sections must be passed in the 2014 GED format.
