Research Day

Join us for an in-person Research Day the last Tuesday of October  -- October 28, 2025!  Plan to come to the Genealogy Center any time between 10:30 am and 2:00 pm to get free individual assistance from experienced researchers from the Albuquerque Genealogical Society and Library staff.  Experts on genetic genealogy and DNA, military research, New Mexico families, African American families, German families, Celtic genealogy, the Daughters of the American Revolution application process, Mayflower families, and more will be available to help you.  Whether you've been researching for a long time or you're just starting out, this is a great day to find out more about your family.

Research Day Mini-Class -- Location Guides

Location Guides are a pro’s secret to faster and more accurate research. In family history tree building, we frequently find ancestors in geographic areas we know little about. Professional genealogist and Albuquerque Genealogical Society member Phil Spivey will show us how a “Location Guide” (also known as a Locality Guide) can quickly help us research those areas like a pro. Learn what they are, how to create them, and how to use them for better research.  October 28 at the Genealogy Center, 10:30 a.m. -- 11 a.m.
