There has been a library at the corner of Edith Boulevard and Central (formerly Railroad) Avenue since 1901!
The purpose-built library you see today was built in 1925.
Come visit the library in March for our anniversary celebrations and find out more!
Also, don’t miss the upcoming exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum,
Open to All: A Century of Access at the Special Collections Library,
which opens on May 24!

The world premiere of a new documentary chronicling the history of Albuquerque’s first public library. This film brings the century-old landmark to life through the memories of former staff and patrons. Produced by Tony Della Flora for GOV-TV, the documentary captures the spirit of a library that has served generations of Albuquerque residents.
