Assistance
Utility Assistance
- HELP New Mexico(505.265.3717) Emergency Assistance is available to help eligible participants who demonstrate a need for support in the payment of their utility bills, rent, prescriptions or food costs. This is a one time assistance only and may not cover the entire bill.
- St. Vincent de Paul(505.762.4664) For emergency financial help. This is a Roman Catholic aid organization, but people of all faiths who are in need can get help. The organization assists low income and others with paying for their electricity, gas and some water bill accounts. They may also have limited funding for rent and mortgage payments. Contact your local Roman Catholic parish for more information or to apply for assistance.
- Silver HorizonsTo be eligible for assistance you must be 60 years of age or older and live in Bernalillo County. Silver Horizons arranges utility assistance once per calendar year. See website for next event, details, and program requirements.
- HEAT NM (NM Gas Company)HEAT New Mexico, the charitable heating assistance fund sponsored by New Mexico Gas Company, helps income-qualifying New Mexicans pay their heating bills each winter. Applicants must first apply to LIHEAP through the New Mexico Human Services Department.
- Storehouse WestAssistance from this Rio Rancho agency comes from Federal Emergency Management Agency funds until the fiscal year's fund is depleted. The fiscal year for the fund operates from October through September. Sandoval County residents only.
The need for quality internet access is more essential than ever, with people teleworking, students attending school online, patients meeting doctors virtually, and businesses providing online services. The City’s Broadband Office is asking community members and businesses to participate in a survey about technology access to help the City understand changing needs and fill gaps in access.
The survey asks whether internet is available to a household and if so, how the connection to the internet is accessed, and how it is used. The goal is to learn what internet and technology services residents are using, what they may be lacking, and why.
The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and provides the City with valuable information to help it best serve Burqueños. Please limit participation to one person per household.
