National Library Card Month: Overview

The Public Library ABQ-BernCo (501 Copper Ave NW, Albuquerque NM, 87102) is conducting a social media photo contest in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month, beginning at 8am MDT on September 1st, 2021 and concluding on 5pm MDT on September 30th, 2021. Contestants may enter the competition by posting a photo submission on either Facebook or Instagram (or both!). This contest is across both platforms and the winner will be selected based upon the photo submission with the overall most “likes,” regardless of which social media platform it is posted on. 

To be eligible to enter and win, contestants must have an active library card, in good standing, with the Public Library ABQ-BernCo. Only one entry per contestant will be evaluated. To be eligible to win, contestant must be 18 years of age or older, or have parental/guardian consent. Employees of the Public Library ABQ-BernCo are ineligible to participate in the contest.

Instagram Entry:

To enter the competition on Instagram, contestants are required to post an Instagram photo on their personal feed featuring their library card from the Public Library ABQ-BernCo, including the tag @ABQLibrary and the hashtag #ABQLibraryLove in the caption. The post must be visible to the public and may be subject to sharing on the Public Library ABQ-BernCo’s social media pages (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) as well as the organization’s website (www.abqlibrary.org) without further notice to the contestant. The post with the most “likes” ending at 5pm MDT on September 30th, 2021 will be declared the winner. Only one entry per contestant will be considered. Submissions must be original work and must not violate any proprietary or intellectual property rights. Fraudulent methods of entry or circumvention of rules may result in the contestant’s entry being invalidated. Submissions entered must adhere to the Public Library ABQ-BernCo social media policy or may be subject to being invalidated.

Facebook Entry:

To enter the competition on Facebook, contestants are required to post a photo featuring their library card from the Public Library ABQ-BernCo on the Public Library ABQ-BernCo’s timeline (www.facebook.com/abclibrary), including the hashtag #ABQLibraryLove in the caption. The post must be visible to the public and may be subject to sharing on the Public Library ABQ-BernCo’s social media pages (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) as well as the website (www.abqlibrary.org) without further notice to the contestant. The post with the most “likes” ending at 5pm MDT on September 30th, 2021 will be declared the winner. Only one entry per contestant will be considered. The winner will be notified within 14 days of the conclusion of the contest. Winner of the contest is required to collect the gift basket, in person, from Main Library branch in Albuquerque, New Mexico after being notified within 10 days. After the 10 day period, the prize will be forfeited and the runner-up winner will be notified. The Public Library ABQ-BernCo is not liable for failure to receive notification of winning.

Contestants who enter the contest agree to release against all claims liability, injury, loss, etc. that occurs directly or indirectly from participation in the contest or the use/misuse of the awarded prize. Additionally, contestants who enter the contest agree to accept contest decisions made by the Public Library ABQ-BernCo. The Public Library ABQ-BernCo reserves the right to refuse, withdraw, or disqualify entries at its sole discretion. The Public Library ABQ-BernCo reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the contest in the event that non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond control impact or corrupt the security, fairness, proper conduct, or administration of the contest.

The National Library Card Sign-Up Month contest hosted by the Public Library ABQ-BernCo is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Facebook. Neither Instagram nor Facebook are affiliated and/or responsible for this contest.

By entering this contest, contestants agree to abide by the official rules, regulations, requirements, and eligibility set forth by the Public Library ABQ-BernCo. Additionally, contestants who enter this contest have affirmatively reviewed, accepted, and agreed to the official rules.
