Are you experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19?
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has declared a state of public health emergency in New Mexico as a result of the novel coronavirus disease (also known as COVID-19). In the midst of this unprecedented public health crisis, the negative impact to the economy has caused many individuals and families to suffer severe financial difficulties. The state and private companies have taken measures to mitigate financial hardship and the state is diligently working to identify additional sources of relief and to advocate for a full measure of federal support.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday announced she will call the New Mexico Legislature into special session on Tuesday, Nov. 24, to take up a relief package for New Mexicans who have been affected by the economic devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state launched a new loan program Wednesday aimed at helping small businesses withstand the difficulties caused by public health restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The $400 million Small Business Recovery Loan Fund was created by a bill passed by the Legislature during the special session in June and signed by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham last month.
