The Erna Fergusson Library is located on the east side of San Mateo Blvd between Comanche Rd and Montgomery Blvd.
The nearest bus route is Route #140/141: San Mateo. The northbound bus stops right in front of the library. For the southbound bus, get off at Comanche and walk about a third of a mile to the library. Plan your trip here.
Freeway Directions from I-40:
Take I-40 to the San Mateo exit and proceed northbound. The Library is located one block north of the intersection of Comanche and San Mateo. Turn right on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Take I-25 to the Montgomery exit. Proceed eastbound on Montgomery to San Mateo and turn right. Proceed southbound on San Mateo for a half-mile. The Library will be on your left before you get to Comanche. Turn left on Palo Duro NE and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.
Surface Street Directions Southbound:
Take southbound San Mateo. Look for the Library on your left a half-mile past the intersection of San Mateo and Montgomery Blvd NE. Turn left on to Palo Duro and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.

Take northbound San Mateo. Look for the Library on your right one block north of the stoplight at Comanche NE. Turn right on to Palo Duro and then left into the parking lot. The entrance is on the east side.
Erna Fergusson has one meeting room that will hold a maximum of 45 people. Policy, rules and required forms for using the meeting room may be found at Meeting and Study Rooms as well as a list of meeting rooms at other branches.

Erna Fergusson has two study rooms. One will hold a maximum of 6 people and the other, a maximum of 12 people. The study rooms may be reserved (call 888-8100) up to one week in advance for no more than two hours per person/group a day. Check in at the Information Desk with your library card to gain access to the study room.

Early Literacy Station
We are a Fiction to Go location! What is Fiction to Go? The Friends for the Public Library sells slightly used, recently published fiction titles for $2 for hardbacks and $1 for paperbacks. Like all funds that our Friends receive, all proceeds from Fiction to Go sales benefit the Public Library!
Accessing eBooks adults
Join us on the 3rd Thursday of the month for Accessing eBooks. Designed for those who are new to eBooks, this small group, lecture-style class will walk participants through the basics of accessing eBooks from the library. Advance registration is required.
Baby and Toddler Storytime ages 0-3
Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. Enjoy an interactive storytime with your child that includes early literacy fun with books, songs, fingerplays and body movement.
Book Club adults
The Erna Fergusson Book Club meets the 1st Wednesday of each month from 6 - 7:30 .pm. Check the website or contact the branch for book titles.
Card Game Club all ages
Join us the first Friday of every month 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. for Card Game Club! Play deckbuilding games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yugioh, or enjoy more classic games like Uno or Go Fish. Bring your own deck, or play with one of ours. All ages and skill levels welcome. No signup necessary. Decks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lego Club ages 5+
Every 3rd Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Join us for building adventures with Lego Club! Let your imaginations run wild with your designs. Legos are provided.
Maker Mondays All ages.
Come on the 2nd Monday of each month from 4 – 5 p.m. for a special kid-friendly craft. We'll get creative and make something unique every month. All materials provided. Check the online event calendar or call (505) 888-8100 to learn about this month's theme.
Master Gardeners all ages
The Albuquerque Area Extension Master Gardeners will visit the library twice a month during the growing season to answer your questions about gardening in Albuquerque. The Master Gardener hotline is available every day from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm: 292-7144 or 243-1386.
Music & Movement Storytime ages 0-6
Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. Enjoy a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with music, dancing, singing, stories and exploration of simple musical concepts.
One-on-One Computer Sessions adults
Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Topics include computer basics for beginners, introduction to the Internet, email, eBooks, Introduction to Microsoft Word, and resume writing. Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. Join in the fun with stories, songs, puppets and more that encourage development of early literacy skills in young children, using the guidelines from the Every Child Ready to Read program.
