OverDrive Read-Aloud resources

Read-alongs are OverDrive Read eBooks with professionally recorded narration that plays along while you read.

You can find read-along eBooks in your library's digital collection by running a search, then selecting OverDrive Read-along under the expandable eBooks filter. See full details on the OverDrive help page.

From the OverDrive website for the Public Library customers, start by choosing Collections to select "Kids" and then perform a search. For a search on the keyword "animals" search results all formats available through OverDrive. Expand the menu "eBooks" to reveal all eBook categories, then choose "OverDrive Read-along."

There are 38 titles which includes Franklin and the Thunderstorm, and can be checked out or placed on hold if currently unavailable.

     

 

Also, search for materials under a certain subject rather than keyword. For example, while still browsing in Kids Collection, click Subjects and then choose Humor (Fiction) to see 1700 results with 12 Read-along titles.

hoopla Read-Aloud resources

Hundreds of children's titles available with text and audio that follows along!

To find read-aloud books available for checkout on hoopla, click Browse in the header bar and then eBooks in the following dropdown menu. Underneath the sliding banner of featured titles, there are links to Recommended, Featured, Poplular, and Categories. Click Categories and then Read-alongs are now on hoopla! to see all titles. While browsing, place the cursor over an item to view details, add to favorites, or borrow.

Titles will open with most browsers, tablets, and mobile devices in the webpage, and controls are available to begin reading.

Remember that this service will work best with the hoopla app!
