My Account through the Public Library Classic catalog allows customers access to information about the library card. The first screen will show current checkouts and the menu items on the left allow users to modify account information, request books, record reading history (optional), and create lists or save searches. Customer name and the expiration date of library card, which occurs every three years, appears above the menu.
Updating contact information in My Account is simple. Click on the menu item to Modify Personal Information and the screen below will pop up in a new window. You can modify your telephone number, email address for contact from the Public Library, preference for contact, and the "Home Library" where you most often pick up items.
To change PIN used to log in, click the menu item Modify PIN and enter your old PIN and then enter and confirm the new four-digit number to replace it. When you press Submit it will be updated across all services of the Public Library.
If you owe fees for lost or damaged items, missing parts, or Interlibrary Loan overdue fines, you can pay them online with a debit or credit card. Access My Account, and select Fines/Fees from the menu. Any fines or fees on your account will be listed.
If you have lost an item, but there is no charge on your account, please contact the nearest library branch or reach our Information Desk at (505) 768-5141 to have the item billed to your account. Once an item is billed to your account, your account will be suspended until the fine is paid.
To renew items that are checked out to you, use the checkboxes in the Renew column. Then select the Renew Marked button. You may also use the Renew All button.
Items that have been successfully renewed will display the new due date. Media items (DVDs, CDs) renew for 2 weeks, and all other items renew for 3 weeks. You are not able to renew items that are on hold for someone else, items that are provided through Interlibrary Loan, items that are overdue by more than 28 days, or items that have been renewed the maximum number of times.
