The Library Advisory Board is established as a liaison between the community and its government for the following purposes:
One goal of the Library Advisory Board is to educate the citizens of Bernalillo County about the needs of the Library and how the Library is supported by the City, County and State.
To help meet that goal they have created the Support ABC Libraries website.
The Library Advisory Board consists of 11 members appointed by the Mayor and City Council, and 4 members who are appointed by the County Commission.

Library Advisory Board meetings are usually held at 5 PM on the first Thursday of the month. The Board does not meet in May, July or December. This schedule is a guide and subject to changes. Agendas, including meeting location, are posted in each library one week prior to the meeting. Previous minutes and agendas are kept for 3 full years. Call 768-5170 or 311 for more information.
Fiscal Year 2018 proposed meeting dates: September 7, 2017 at Tony Hillerman; November 9, 2017 at Erna Fergusson; January 4, 2018 at Cherry Hills; April 5, 2018 at Special Collections; June 7, 2018 at Juan Tabo.
The Unified Library Advisory Board is created by City ordinance and a Joint Powers Agreement with Bernalillo County.
